"Frances L. Love, a former resident of Star Lake, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Kindred Hearts in New London. She was 101. Mrs. Love was born Sept. 30, 1901, in Granton, the daughter of Adolph and Blanche (nee Beedher) Leach.... She married Franklin Love, a high school classmate, in 1928. In the 1930's she moved with her family to Star Lake, then a logging town, and they built a cottage. Her husband ran the railroad depot while she operated a bait stand. A resident of Madison since 1950, Mrs. Love lived alone until age 100, but continued to spend summers in Star Lake until recently.... She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991....
