Focuses on the central Wisconsin area, generally between Portage and Wausau. Contains a good history of logging along the Wisconsin River up to the 1850s. Mentions the area around the Eagle River, and talks of a expedition from Lac Vieux Desert south down the Wisconsin River. Valuable resource regarding the region in this period. Mentions the scope of the Land Office at Stevens Point, which included the Wisconsin River corridor, including what is now Star Lake. Speaks of the agricultural potential of the land, but this generally refers to area to the south.
