Both Lowwood and UW Madison have CD roms of the atlas. It may be available online through the Wisconsin Historical Society. The Lowwood CD contains the following label text: "1878 Wisconsin State Atlas, Copyright 2002, Euriskodata, Inc." [Copyright applies to the CD, the atlas is in the public domain.] The CD includes only the first 124 pages, which is all of the maps but none of the history. It is not clear whether the missing material was in a second volume, but it is shown in the Table of Contents. The area which is now the Town of Plum Lake in Vilas County was then in Lincoln County, but there was no political organization in the area in 1878. The following lakes in the area are named on the map: Star, Boulder, Laura, Plum, St. Germain, Trout, and White Sand.
