“Ready for Winter”

Let Old Man Winter swoop down any time now," says Co. 650, Star Lake, Wis., "we're ready for him." All winter clothing was issued to every man, from the chief foreman down to the newest rookie. Winter caps, jerkins, windbreakers, heavy undies, mittens, socks, overshoes and snow packs. Such things as these will be used to battle the winter up here in cold Northern Wisconsin. Wayne J. Morse reporting,
