The A. H. Stange Co. has announced that if plans to extend an 8-mile railway from Star Lake to its timber in Vilas County meet with no interruptions, the sawmill at Merrill will begin operations the middle of May. It is being entirely rebuilt. The planing mill is running as orders require. The door department is exporting painted doors to Canada, while the sash department, its capacity recently trebled, is running full force. Deals are being exported to Europe.
