It is not clear where Miss Tilton Wead (in 1943 she married Mr. Eben Rodgers of Alton, Illinois) would have stayed for six weeks in Star Lake. Oliver Lodge was closed. It would have been expected that she would have stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Aldous at Lowwood cottage (Harriet Forbes Aldous was her cousin) but it is my understanding that the Aldouses did not open Lowwood in 1942 because of the war. It may be that they opened Lowwood in 1942, but not 1943 and 1944. In any case, when Lowwood was closed, they still came to Star Lake by "check on things" staying at Rismon's resort.

Miss Tilton Wead, who had spent six weeks at Star Lake, Wis., will return to Alton this evening and will be a guest of Mrs. Cecil R. Pilsbury of 426 Belleview avenue until she moves into her new residence at 712 State street. Miss Wead spent the past few days with the Rev. And Mrs. Frederick Butlet, former Altonians, at their home in Ripon, Wis.
