North Country Trail
The North Country Trail, part of the National Trail Network passes through northern Wisconsin.
Note the following:
MINUTES, Governor's State Trails Council Meeting, Friday, July 13, 2007, Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest, Crystal Lake Campground, State Trails Council Member Reports, Hiking/Walking. "[Dave]Phillips commented on the North Country Trail. The National Scenic Trail which travels from North Dakota to New York is close to being complete in Wisconsin. Stewardship dollars and federal-side Land and Water Conservation funding have been used to help acquire land for the trail. Phillips would like to see the trail included on the Wisconsin Department of Tourism website." [Minutes, full text]
