The Tomahawk Area Historical Society is a local affiliate of the Wisconsin Historical Society. It operates three facilities in Tomahawk:

Log Cabin Museum. The building served for many years as city/tourist information center. It now contains logging and farming artifacts.

Tomahawk's First School - Museum. It was a one room school. It now contains turn of the century living room, military, and other exhibits.

Nystrom Cabin. This is preserved in memory of its builder and Tomahawk's only law enforcement personnel to die while on duty: Carl O Nystrom.
