The Star Lake Yacht Club is an association of summer residents of Star Lake who like to sail, generally in Sunfish. The have had a regatta on one of the lakes, usually Lake Laura or Star Lake, once each summer. The elect a Commodore each year who organizes the next year's regatta.

The following email announcement on July 25, 2014, was sent by email to all Yacht Club members:

                                   STAR LAKE YACHT CLUB

Due to the shocking drowning death of our 2014 Commodore Karen Wessel, the 2014 Star Lake Yacht Club Regatta and related activities have been canceled. Our prayers are with Karen's family, and the many Star Lake families touched by this tragedy. Karen died saving the life of a child.

Since that date the Yacht Club has essentially be inactive; it has elected no successor Commodores and had no regattas. (2020)
