Lone Tree Lake

Lone Tree Lake is a 130 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 16 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass. The lake's water clarity is low. [From the DNR Website.} Additional information from the site: Bottom: 80% sand, 15% gravel, 5% rock, 0% muck. Hydrologic Lake Type: SEEPAGE. Latitude, Longitude: 46.04709720, -89.50353810. Fish: Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass. Trophic Status: Eutrophic. The is one boat landing with carry in access (short distance). Motorboats are prohibited. Data as of March, 2012.

Years ago (1950s and 1960s, perhaps later), the present boat landing allowed cars to get to the lake, and picnicking and camping were allowed at the site--there was room for one campsite.
