John and Besse Moen lived in Star Lake from the earliest days. John died on February 22, 1931 at age 83, according to the Back Through the Times feature in the Lakeland Times of February 27, 2010. His obituary appeared in the Lakeland Times February 27, 1931--from the obituary index in the Plum Lake Library.
