White Birch Lake

White Birch Lake is a 113 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 27 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye. The lake's water clarity is low. [From the DNR Website.] Additional information from the site: Bottom 50% sand, 20% gravel, 10% rock, 20% muck. Hydrologic Lake Type: DRAINAGE. Latitude, Longitude: 46.063430, -89.52286890. Fish: Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye. Trophic Status: Eutrophic. Data is as of March, 2012.

White Birch is the downstream lake of a three-lake chain, including, Irving, Ballard and White Birch. It was the site of Wilsie's No topic [88 white birch lodge], now under new ownership as White Birch Village.

An 1895 map published by Poole Bros., Publishers in Chicago, shows the lake's name to be Beckham Lake.
